adapted QoL scales, direct or video observations and interviews. Themes
identified included measuring QoL, feeling valued as an individual in care,
maintaining close personal relationships, meaningful and enjoyable
activities and feelings of being at home.
Conclusions
The data and themes identified support current policy and government
initiatives towards person centred care and co-production. There was also
evidence of the value of implementing a QoL tool for use by frontline staff.
This would support assessment and review by offering additional
information specific to the individual's needs and wishes. Further research
is required to establish the most appropriate tool and adapt it for the local
setting.
