We are delighted to invite you to the next seminar in our series of
events organised by the Child Welfare Inequalities Network (CWIN),
held at 13:00-14:00 GMT 4th March.
Basic Income for Care Leavers in Wales pilot is an ambitious policy
that provides a basic income to all care leavers in Wales who have
their 18th birthday in a 12-month window. They receive £1,600 (pretax) for 24 months. The pilot is being evaluated by a multi-institutional
team led by CASCADE research centre at Cardiff University.
In this seminar, Adam Jones from the Welsh Government will present
information about the intervention and its policy goals. Following this,
David Westlake and Sally Holland, who are leading the evaluation, will
talk about how the pilot is being evaluated and present some early
findings.
