Successful Social Care Managers Forum and new Social
Care Workforce Reform webpage launched
To support social care managers, the Social Care Council facilitates two regional Social
Care Managers Forums each year, usually in May and November. Locations are chosen
to maximise participation across NI with the events being repeated once within a short
timescale. These events provide an opportunity to engage with social care managers
and share innovation and good practice.
On 18 and 23 May 2023 the Social Care Council hosted this year's Spring Social Care
Managers' Forums. Over 150 social care managers and their colleagues from across
Northern Ireland attended the events, which were held in Omagh and Antrim.
The theme of the forums was "Social Care Reform - The voices of Social Care Workers,"
and the speakers provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities
facing the social care sector. Both forums featured presentations on social care
recruitment and retention, apprenticeships, voices of social care, social care experience,
the upcoming Social Care Council app and the new Social Care Workforce Reform
webpage. There was also an opportunity for networking and discussion.
