650 from all over Europe and beyond. delegates attended a fantastic event in April 2023. Th
setting was beautiful, and the atmosphere was warm and enthusiastic. The conference ope
with our Special Interest Group events. 20 SIGS took part with more than 300 delegates
attending, creating a vibrant start to the conference.

RESEARCH CONFERENCE
Updates from Northern Ireland in Milan
Ulster University was well represented at the European Conference for Social Work Research
Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Ulster University staff have had leadership roles in setting up th
convenor of the Social Work Workforce Research SIG (WRSIG), building on her research on wo
International Federation of Social Work (IFSW) to expand on research capacity on working con
years with IFSW (in collaboration with Bath Spa University). Dr McFadden also co-edited a bo
Routledge in April 2023, with co-editors from Finland, Ireland, and India.
Dr Campbell Killick and Professor Brian Taylor were the founder convenors of the Decisions, A
Research Lead, Department of Health, Belfast), Sonia Patton (service user from NI) and Brian h
programme at the conference. There were various other contributions by Ulster University res
