the individual social worker, if successfully considered and implemented by
individuals and organisations.
Conclusions:
The findings provide an insight into the areas of support that could assist
social work staff in limiting the effects of burnout and psychological distress.
Whilst the findings provide a helpful interpretation of the statistical relevance
of burnout within social work staff, a deeper understanding of the experiences
of burnout amongst affected staff requires further exploration. The findings of
this review will further support the organisational endeavours to strengthen,
build capacity and stabilise the child protection workforce.
