Congratulations and Good Luck to Deirdre McKenna
Deirdre formerly of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust recently
retired. Yes that is right, the same Deirdre who was a Senior Social Work
Practitioner - Specialist Palliative Care and Winner of the Social Work
Awards back in 2018 in Adult Services. This award was in recognition of
her work in relation to Specialist Palliative Care which she continued to
support in a recent role in the Public Health Agency NI.
Deirdre was a real advocate and champion for the use and application of
research and evidence having caught that research bug following her
successful participation and success on the post qualifying research
methods programme at Ulster University.
In her own words:- "the research methods programme at Ulster University is excellent and it opened up
so many avenues for sourcing up to date quality primary research. Thank you and continue the great
work".
She was also a great contributor to this newsletter, publicising achievements of her own but, very
importantly, and the achievements of others.
Thank you Deirdre for your support and trust we can still rely on your wisdom in the future.
Enjoy the next chapter of your life.
