The Evidence into Practice Special Interest Group (EIPSIG)
Aims of EIPSIG
EIPSIG is one of a number of special interest groups of the European Social Work
Research Association (ESWRA) and has a web presence as part of the ESWRA website
@ESWRA. It is a relatively new group launched in 2021.
Launched in 2021 the European Social Work Research Association's (ESWRA's)
Evidence Into Practice Special Interest Group aims to contribute to greater definitional
clarity about evidence in European social work practice, and to support the identification
and use of empirically supported interventions in social work. A further aim is to push for
the systematic evaluation of practices and interventions in social work and consider
organizational responsibilities.
Scope of EIPSIG
Giving strategic leadership;
Setting expectations;
Supporting local research;
Improving access to research;
Encouraging learning from research; and,
Bringing stakeholders together - Collaboration and partnership approaches.
The Annual Coordination Meeting of EIPSIG takes place at the annual European
Conference. Members of the group are encouraged to collaborate in joint presentations
at ECSWR. EIPSIG is a new group that aims to encourage members to apply for joint
research grants and write joint publications. EIPSIG had its first Pre-Conference Event at
ECSWR 2022 and will continue this event at each ECSWR prospectively. EIPSIG supports members
in collaborating on Symposia, Workshops, Oral Presentations and
Posters at ECSWRs. The 2023 ESWRA conference is in Milan on 12th-14th April
