Abstract
Context
The concept of team resilience has only been explored within the context
of sports and business and never within the caring professions. With a
drive to promote better outcomes for Looked After Children, team
resilience was considered an important issue that required exploration.
Methodology and Methods used
The researcher undertook 15 semi-structured interviews with deputy team
leaders, team leaders, principal social workers and senior managers within
the South Eastern Trust to explore their perceptions of team resilience.
These staff provided data rich information based on their personal
experiences of managing teams within the context of residential child care.
Following the transcribing of interviews, a thematic analysis identified nine
key themes.
